Okay - has anybody got some good experience with scenes and scene maps?
I'll be trying them out real soon. My usual double VF setup, so I realize I'll have to have 2 sets of scenes, one in each unit...
I've worked with them a bit: setting the scene, the time it occurs, etc etc...relatively straightforward, tho by no means intuitive...the Map changes the scenes at specific times throughout the song.
One question I have is about the most intelligent way to go about all of this: would it be easier, perhaps, to go thru the song and mark all of the points in Memory where I expect scene changes to occur FIRST, then come up with scenes, and then apply them to those Memory points?
Another question is about making changes to the scene map after you think you're done...does it screw things up at all? Does the order "jump"? I seem to recall having some problem of this type way back when...sorta put me off the scene map thing altogether.
And a question about viewing the scenes - is it easily seen on the screen what scene is happening at what time wihtout actually playing thru the whole song? Or might it be best to write stuff down on paper, maybe right next to the lyrics/lead sheet, so there is a quick easy at-a-glance view of what is happening and when?
And what about the FIXED FADER thing? They have to be FIXED (level internally locked) for them to come up at the level you set in the scene, but if you need to make a slight change, you have to go to into setup and make them "un"FIXED - then make your change - then go into setup, change to FIXED - then relisten and hope it's right?!? Do I have that correct, or am I doing something wrong? Seems like WAY TOO MUCH to go thru to make a tiny change...
THANKS for any hints, tips, notes, jibes, jeers, suggestions, or replies of any kind!
