A long time ago I was messing around with my then new JCM900 (a 100 watt tube amp) and I can't exactly remember how but I basically had a direct out
plugged directly into my vf160. I soon forgot about my board and began playing my amp and gradually turning it up until it was fully cranked. I however soon
remembered my board when I started to smell smoke. After freaking out and turning everything off I soon found out I had a problem! Inputs 3 and 4 no longer can
receive signal. I can still use channels 3/11 and 4/12 if I bus things to them but I cannot record through their respective inputs. I am wondering what exactly
would have been fried AND if it is easily repairable/replaceable.

Is the peak light continually lit? Oh, well, that may not even matter. My recollection of the JCM900 is that it doesn't have direct outs---just an EFX
I/O and speaker outputs. If you sent a speaker output right into the VF, the inputs are seriously fried. A serious no-no for any piece of equipment. Your
bad. You need a repair.

I've had this happen on two occasions by two different people. I returned it to Fostex and they repaired it for about $20, at the time they were still
selling the VF.
