I started a project a while ago and have done a lot if recording on the vf16.I recently acquired a jaz drive and was backing up my songs so I could upgrade to a newer version.

I have a really old version of the software (1.02 I think). I just tested restoring a song from backup before I applied the update (to 3.10), and some of the tracks are out of sync (i.e the bass comes in before the drums, and not intentionally).

I've been using the VF16 for a couple of months now, but am a little confused by some of the results that I get when I apply a compressor to mixed down output...

Having taken a song and mixed it down (using the Internal-Mixdown feature), I'm re-panning tracks 1 (left) and 2 (right), setting them at 0db, then switching on the compressor over the master output.

The guitar has a built-in microphone and electronics powered by a 9V battery. There are two jacks in the guitar, one 1/4'' and an XLR. Now, I would like to know the reason for using the XLR apart from the fact that is doesn't give as much noise if you're using long cables. yesterday, I decided to try my hand at building a scene map to eliminate unwanted noise in spots on various tracks. After creating the scene map, it didn't work out the way I had anticipated so I decided to just record dead space over those spots instead.

I have a few dynamic mics (Sm-58, Sm-57, and one of those Peavey diamond series deals), and a few condensors. When I record with the dynamic mics straight into the vf-16, I cant get ANY volume out of them....The condensors are plenty loud....But the dynamics wont even get loud enough to even come CLOSE to peaking....Everyone says I need a mic preamp, but @#%$, I guess I need 8 of em....either way, that is annoying....Is there something wrong with my unit? It has an internal IDE CD-RW drive and is not connected to a PC , I have a decent PC with a CD-RW drive .

We can't figure out how to backup the song data to CDr as .WAV's so I can load them onto my PC and work with them. When we go to save program , IDE , Bckup there is no option to sav as wav. The resulting Backup disca can't be read by my PC.
