The previous owner mentioned that he ran a guitar processor with the output too high &amp; damaged the channel. Is it fried or is there a way to reset it? 			<description><![CDATA[ I'm trying to simplify my final mixing process by making stem mixes of my tracks. I have left and right panned rhythm guitars and center lead/solo guitar. Each one is recorded on 2-3 tracks. Guitar Left is on tracks 1,2,3. Guitar Right is on tracks 4,5,6. Lead/solo isn't recorded yet, but will probably span 3-4 tracks. My bass is also on 2 tracks. 			<description><![CDATA[ I accidentally formatted my hard drive and gave it to somebody to attempt a data recovery. They failed, which is not a massive drama for me but now when I reconnect the hard drive the fostex will not recognise it and just comes up &quot;no disk&quot;. It is the original 5GB fireball, and I can hear it spinning up when I turn on the unit but it will not recognise it. Any help GREATLY appreciated. Cheers guys. ]]></description>

He exported them as mono, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz...which is how the wav files are supposed to be according to the manual. When i go through the load option, it automatically ejects the disc and says &quot;insert disc&quot;. I tried more than one disc to make sure it wasn't the disc itself. I was tempted to try the Tascam 2488 but after doing some homework, I found many unhappy customers with machines that freeze up and customer support that does not answer emails.  I have been happy for many years with my VF-16 but am now getting concerned that my 40+ JAZ cartridges may be unreliable backup.  Any comments about the VF-160EX? 			<description><![CDATA[ I'm running 2 vf16s in sync using only a midi cable and it seems to work fine...But I'm not using an optical cable from master to slave with slave receiving adat signal, even though I've been told to do so....Is there any danger in this?<br><br>I monitor the slave using 2 channels on the master and I use the digital out on the master to mix down to an external cd burner....and that's the reason I can't run the optical cable to the slave.....<br>What is the purpose in using an optical cable... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I save my vf160ex wav files to a cd-rw disc, and after I edit them on my pc with a wav editor program, It won't let me save them (overwrite the original files) to the cd-rw disc, so I have to save them to a folder on the pc...And then I burn them to another cd-rw disc....But then that disc won't load back to the vf160ex.....Could someone please tell me how to do this process sucessfully?
